AgedCareActionPlan.au is an independent guide to the Australian aged care system, run by Steve Hadfield. We are not a government agency or an aged care provider.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Our carer statement builder and our reassessment letter tool ask about the person you care for. Some of what you type may be health information, so here is exactly where it goes.
Under Anthropic's terms for business customers, it deletes what we send within 30 days and does not use it to train its AI. It can keep content for longer if it is flagged for misuse, or if the law requires it (checked 26 September 2026). See how long Anthropic keeps business data.
You decide what to type. If you prefer, use a first name or initials for the person you care for.
You can use the statement builder without giving us your email address.

If you come to the free tool from one of our ads or a tagged link, we save which one (for example, "meta" and the ad's name) with your email address, so we can tell which ads are worth paying for. We don't save anything from your answers.
You give us your email address when you ask for your statement by email, or when you sign up on one of our pages. We keep your email address, your first name if you give it, and a record of which emails we have sent you.
If you sign up for one of our free plans, we also keep two records. One shows that you agreed to hear about our paid guides. The other shows whether you asked to hear when a new guide is ready.
Our feedback form reaches us as an email. We keep it so we can reply and, only if you said yes on the form, quote it on this site. Leave out any health details you don't want us to keep.
If you reply to one of our emails, your reply comes to our inbox. We use it to answer you, and we may note what you told us, without your name or email address, to improve what we write. We delete your email once we have replied. Leave out any health details you don't want us to see.
We don't sell anything at the moment. If you bought from us before, Stripe processed your payment and we never saw your card details. We keep records of past purchases for as long as tax law requires. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/au/privacy.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We save your choice in a cookie for 12 months. You can change it at any time with the "Privacy preferences" link on our pages.
If you click Accept, Google Analytics can set cookies that show us which pages people use. Until you click Accept, it is told not to set cookies. Under Google's consent mode it may still send Google limited information without cookies, such as the fact that a page was viewed.
Links in our ads and emails can carry a tag that shows where a visit came from. The tag identifies the ad or email, not you.
The fonts on this website load from Google, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We don't use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel.
To stop misuse of our tools, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself.
These services handle personal information for us. Some are outside Australia, so some of your information is handled overseas.

This website uses HTTPS, so information you send is encrypted on its way to us. No system is completely secure. If you think your information has been misused, email us straight away.
When what we do with information changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
